Comment Contest Winners!

Don't you just hate it when someone has a blog contest and makes you read on and on for days before just spitting out who the winner actually is?  I do!  I usually skip to the end to find out if it's me (whether it is a video or a regular post) because I am just that kind of girl.  I used to read the ends of books before finishing them too but thankfully I've stopped that nonsense.  So anyway, I had a contest...more of a non-contest that nobody really had to play, but all the same, there was a winner and I am tickled pink at the outcome of this one!

As you can see, if you've already jumped right to the graphic (which is why it is here at the top of the post), the winner of my Comment Contest is none other than the lovely, delightful, strong, smart, person I'd want to live next door to...Radioactive Girl (aka Tori).  So here's the deal...I only decided what the prize would be this last Sunday while hosting Snackie Radio.  Also, the only people I told what the prize was going to be was those listening and yanno, maybe a few of my friends that cared to listen!  So here it is..the grand prize for winning the comment contest is:

When Bullets Bend Over And Kiss My Blarney Stone....

First of all, Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!  I hope you frolic like Martin Prince and find yourself a four leaf clover and if not....a few pints of green beer!  Have I mentioned that I loathe the color kelly green?  Yeah, totally do.

If you missed my radio show yesterday, never fear....you can either listen to or download the archive here.  My guest was Chelle from The Absurdist and the show was uh, interesting.  Somehow it became the Davy-Joe show because Chelle is a little smitten with Dave's hotness.  Besides all that, we talked about sex (shocker), love, crushes and the paranormal.  There will be no show next week due to Easter but join me on March 30th when my guest actually *is* Dave!

Mr. Fab is having a cleavage contest which I guess is quite harmless....or so he says!  We're not allowed to pimp ourselves out or anything like that, but we can tell you to go over and play.  Now I never thought I'd win and really sent in my cleave because I thought Fab wouldn't get enough entries.  Boy was I dumb!  But it is interesting to try to match the boobs to the blogger, haha.  I'm using the few shots that show hair as my big deductions.

I posted this on my Twitter earlier today, but I have a question:  A guy at work was talking to another guy at work and said, "Yeah I was running late so I let her jump in the shower with me, then I washed her hair, then her mom got in and took over".  He was talking about his daughter who I would guess is somewhat young because he talked about her watching Dora this morning as well.  The twitterbugs want me to snoop and find out her age, but I ask you....is anything about that creepy?  Even in the 70's when I was a child, I never saw my Dad's junk.

There were a couple of comments made to me last week that really hurt my feelings.  At first, I saw red as I am prone to do.  But thanks to a couple of friends who always ask me if it is worth it and/or tell me to calm the fuck down and give it a few days, I am golden.  I do think I am going to start a series of posts that contain stories from my past so people better get where I am coming from.  It's fucking easy to make a snap judgment when you don't know all the facts about a person's past yet maybe if I put some of those details out there, that can go away, right?  And I know...I don't have to but I am going to.

I wonder how many bloggers feel that they "owe" their readers something when their lives are misinterpreted.  I must be the only one that feels compelled to explain myself and I've got to figure out why, quite honestly.  Note to self....next time you have therapy, bring this shit up.

I’d love to do a whole post about how I can’t be myself on my blog, not totally anyway.  I’d like to talk about how some days I wish I was anonymous.  It’s going to take too much effort to be doubly cryptic on this one though.

I should try to figure out if people mean what they say or just say it in order to be liked.  I should dive into how uneasy it makes me feel when I don’t immediately know that answer.  But then, I might put myself in a position to become defensive.

I’d really love to talk about questioning my decisions and the clarity and calm that comes from discovering the correct answer the second time around.  Crap, this would be all cryptic again and I don’t have the energy.

Wouldn’t it be nice to tell people why I have to be so cryptic?  About the busy bees that swarm in and out, carrying messages back to the hive?  Wouldn’t it be nice to able to, once and for all, go off on those bees and talk candidly here?   I don’t have it in me to deal with the fallout of that one…that’s for danged sure.

The idea for my post came from the amazing CP who put herself out there by admitting publicly that she loves the Pro Wrestling.  Believe you me, I know that's not an easy thing to do especially if your little secret, like mine or hers, is one that many will make fun of.  Oh yes, I too have a delicious little mindless sin that hardly anyone would guess exists.  I've had it now for 20 years and I won't give it up anytime soon.  I don't care if you leave me once you know the truth because to love me is to accept me, crazy and all.

I'm Baaaack And Uh....It's Baaaaack!

Oh how I've missed you all!  Oh how I've missed writing in my blog!  I know it's only been like 4-5 days or whatever but that is a long time for me to keep my trap shut!  The funny thing is that I often struggle for a really good post.  It's like I want to say something meaningful or something that will somehow touch people in some way.  Other times I just want to be able to truly express what I am feeling inside but lack words that could equal the emotions.  As I was wandering around this last week, without a place to put my thoughts, the most brilliant flow of words and thoughts poured through me and I knew that I had my mojo back.  Unfortunately, today is a day for catch-up so look for something a little deeper throughout the next couple of weeks, yay!  So plinkity dinkity doo....let's review:

Here In My Head v2.0

It's no secret that I lean a little towards being an idealist but.... there actually is part of me that's into realism.  I'm not living in a world where bluebirds bring me cupcakes as dwarfs give me pedicures.  Not yet, anyway. 

So when I shake my head and wonder why we all can't get along, it's not that I actually expect it to happen, it's just that I wish it would -- especially since some of the "arguments" out there are just plain ridiculous.  The latest one that I have witnessed not only in the PRB but also in real life is the whole "keeping your opinions to yourself" debate.  People are up in arms because someone dared to state how they actually feel about something.  Le sigh.

There is a huge difference between having an opinion and forcing others to feel stupid because they don't share your views.  It's a fine line that separates the two but if you have a clear head, you can get through it.  Look at me...I am one opinionated beyotch but I never ever ask that my friends and/or readers bow down and lick my frosting, stating that they so totally agree...unless they *do*.  Contrary to unpopular opinion, I don't have "yes men" on the payroll.

I'm *Not* A Barbie Girl (Maybe Just A Princess)...

So it's Friday and I am freakishly happy, yet bored.  I have no idea what happened but it started yesterday....there's a little swing in my step, a little bit of love in my heart and a smile on my face.  What the hayyyck?  I'm in a good mood?  I have to tell you that the beginning of this week started out pretty crappy with the fires and whatnot.  Then (RW, look away) I got my "Happy Girlie Time Party" and hated everything about myself all week.  But today, there is humidity in the air again and my hair looks fabulous!  Also, my outfit is cute and I'm back to walking around like I own this beyotch rather than with my eyes averted to the ground.  I don't know how long this will last, but let's roll with it shall we?

In an effort to keep fun and frivolity alive *as well as* alleviating some of my Friday boredom at work....I have one question for you:  Whatcha wearing today?  Details people, details!  Even if you are wearing peejays, I wanna hear it!

Me, I guess you could say...it's cute casual Friday!  I have on jeans that are dark dark dark blue with a bit of black stitched in, a black long-sleeve fitted blouse, my cute black John Fluevog shoes, and all silver "pounded" jewelry (hoops, a stacked silver necklace and matching bracelet).  Also my hair down and perfectly flippy today!  So since I spent two paragraphs making it all about me, let's make it all about YOU!

Went Looking Behind Every Door For You....

It's time for bullet-style thoughts, without the bullets because they just don't please me aesthetically.  Shhh, yes I am a freakshow.

Hallo-Fucking-Ween:  Hey, have you met SJ?  You know her....she went wild and sexy with me at Oceanside pier, got some of the best damned pictures with Captain Awesome and Neil at Dave LA, and talked me through my fantasy head when it was swimmy and confused.  She's a righteous babe who totally just pulled me out of a huge jam today and I cannot thank her enough.  She's a good egg with a good idea, btw.  You see, she's started a Halloween Meme called Behind The Mask and I think it is a faboo idea and something everyone should try to take part in to make it more fun!  You can go to her site to read the details.  The gist is that you list however many bloggers you want and link them.  Then you list things that would correspond to them and make people guess who relates to what.  Some ideas are, "which song lyric is this person?", "what quote came from this person?, "what is this person's worst dislike?" and so on and so on.  She explains other options over there but it is a great way to get creative!  Shockingly enough, I am going to do the lyric thing most likely...maybe.  So go and play and get your ass a cute banner like the one in my sidebar!

Rush:  So I have this 6-disc MP3 player in my car, which is where most of my music is housed.  Generally I play each cd on "random" so that I get a variety.  One thing this means is that I never know what song is next nor do I know what will play when I switch the disc!  Freaky deaky time....the last four days I have come out of work singing a song then thinking that I would get in the car and play it on the way home.  Each day that I have done that, I would click over to the disc that I know it is on and whammo bammo, that exact song would come on first!  Today it happened again.  If I do it tomorrow, I am such the Goddess!

Lame-o:  If you "volu-quit" (i.e. get pissed off about getting coached about your poor performance and choose to snivel and run away rather than fix it), don't come back for your final check three days later and start yelling at everyone in the HR Department, especially the new girl.  How exactly again is it my fault that you are an asshole, Quitty McQuitterson?

Closed:  Sometimes I have to stop paying attention to certain people and certain things because I can't handle them anymore.  What I mean by that is, sometimes stuff hurts.

Kindness:  Today I have experienced more kindness from people that I could even begin to imagine.  People have pulled me out of jams, comforted me while I cried, came to my defense agains the aforementioned bastage, and complimented things that I did not know shined through from my insides.  It sure beats yesterday when I hated everything about myself.  Man, I wish there were no days of hating everything about myself.

Pink Puffy Heart Snark-Talk Radio, Now With BONUS Sex!

Retread:  For some of you this is going to look likie a re-post and technically it is.  I put up the "Blog Talk Radio" post last night but something went horribly wrong in my TypePad and my comments were closed.  Usually you can re-edit the crap out of that but it was like my page was frozen in time....wrong time to post, I guess.  Anyway, it's not like you expect many comments on an "I'm a whore, come look at me" post but the option is nice, right?  So yeah, if you've seen this last bit ...sorry!

Hot Sexy Action (and Love):  I had the most vivid sex dreams last night and two of them were about bloggers.  There was a third dream where someone told me that he was in love with me...well rather he sent it to me via test message (*snort*).  Also, when I say "vivid" and "real", I truly mean it.  I woke up this morning completely discombobulated  and wondering who the hell drugged my Nighty-Night tea!  I didn't do anything out of the ordinary last night, only drank a tiny bit with dinner and was watching Stargate Atlantis when I went to sleep.  Oh sorry.... I'm just trying to figure out the magic formula of how to make it happen again.

Semi-Vacation:  I need to take a vacation and spend it around people that are good for me emotionally.  It's so close to "go time" and I need to make some decisions stat.  Yes, more of the cryptic...sorry.  But still...where should I go?

Raising Hell On A "Random Tuesday"!

Have y'all ever noticed something....yanno like the fact that once I post something somewhat soul-baring, the next post is almost always high in frivolity?  Yeah, that's how we do round heaaa' at Snackie's World, beyotches!

De-Lurk De-Lurk, Wherever You Are!

Remember when I told you all that someone completely bagged on me the last time I involved myself in a de-lurking day?  Her words about me "daring" to ask people to say hello almost convinced me that I should feel bad for asking!  So today, when I discovered that someone had started another de-lurk day, I passed right by the whole thing with no intention of participating.

But then I thought about it....

Often, I will get emails from people who never comment because they are afraid to...either they feel that there is nothing original or witty that they can contribute or they don't really know me and feel like they should before getting all up in my hoobastank.  One of the things that I like to encourage here at my blog is open communication with the sense that everyone belongs, not just my BFFs and regular commenters.  I love people and love hearing that you are out there reading, mostly because I'm sometimes insecure enough to worry that my words mean nothing on this page.  Sure, sure..."I'm writing for myself".  Whatever.  We all like to know that something we say is resonating with someone else whether it be because it is sheerly amusing or because we've touched another soul.

So today, I am ignoring the fact that someone accused me of wanting people to de-lurk because I think they are stalkers.  That's not it at all....I am just like everyone else; I'm curous to know who is out there surviving every day with me as I muddle through life.  As I've said before, everyone is welcome here as long as they don't have a stinky attitude!  So please, de-lurk and say hello!  If you need to say something more than "hi, I am de-lurking", then by all means....tell me about what your favorite cookie is OR what makes you smile!  But please, come out come out wherever you are and say hi or tell me about yourself or just give me some sugar :).  Oh and you regular readers can still tell me all about your cookies...erm, or happy thoughts.

It's Time For The Freakshow Parade Once Again!

It's no secret that I love statistics and that a really involved spreadsheet completely turns me on (well in the same manner that clothing design turns on Vince Libretti).  As a matter of fact, until this last weekend, I'd been kicking some ass with my Fantasy Football team even though I never ever watch a game.  Why?  Because it is all about numbers and stats, really.  So, it should be no surprise when I say that I absolutely love my SiteMeter, but not for the reason people think.  I rarely check the detailed statistics that tell me a person's IP, where they live, what site or search engine they came from, how long they spent soaking in the Snack-essence, and/or what out-clicks they made while visiting.  What intrigues me most about my Site Meter are the various generalized reports and graphs that I get on the whole picture.  For example, 77.5% of my readers use Windows XP,  a whopping 78.8% of my readers still use one of the various versions of Internet Explorer (that number sort of shocks me), my readership is highest in the states of California and Washington, and the sites that currently refer the most traffic my way are Pink Bunny Foo Foo and Blogography.

These statistics tend to change each quarter so it is really interesting to look at them.  I really had no clue that my readership was more bountiful on the West Coast.  While these stats tend to change, one thing never ever does....the crazy assed search words that lead others to my site.  Ahhh, yes....we've all made the "look at these search words" posts before and I am here to do it again.  Of course by making this post, I run the risk of more crazies coming here late at night, while using only one hand on the keyboard (if ya know what I mean).  But still, it's fun and I am here to share my Snackie Searches with you....under the jump, cause this here is a family show - *snort*.

Whaddya know...some little hobgoblins came around here in the middle of the night and did something to my graphics.  Those little Halloween stinkers!  You know, it's nearing the last quarter of the year and when that happens, strange things start appearing and disappearing here at Snackie's World!  What will be next?  Only time will tell....

Meanwhile, it's Saturday and I plan on doing absolutely nothing but catching up on more TV.  I forfeited watching premieres last night but I did get to see Doctor Who (yum).  Unfortunately, the cold that I fought off so well last weekend came back with a vengeance due to a lowered resistance from not sleeping.  Last night, I was coughing my lungs out so I took some cold pills and ended up passing out around 10pm, yes....on a Friday.  But the good news is that I totally slept 8 straight hours last night and even though I am sick, feel more rested than I have in days.  So today's plan is hot tea, more pills, a cozy down comforter and a teevee full of stuff to gorge my rotted brain on! 

But I leave you with this...I cannot get this flippity dippity song out of my frakking head!  Every time I try, I go somewhere and they are playing it.  Yesterday in the Cingul-ATT store, then on teevee, then then then....argh.  So I invite you to get it stuck in your head as well.  Hey, the family that suffers together, erm.....yeah.

Warning: Bullets and Exclamation Points Ahead!

1.  A friend of mine who reads my blog called me yesterday and was like, "what's up with you?  Your seem so out of sorts this week!"  Ugh, really?  So I went back and looked and had to laugh....yep, seems like it.  I think there are just times that I use my blog to wax poetic and talk about all of the wonders of the world, times that I use it as a medium to get attention (whore!) and times when I just plain use it to bitch all week long!  I'm actually not out of sorts really, except for the sleeping thing, but yah....guess I've just been venting and it's time to get back to whatever it is that I normally do up in this beyotch (like swear a lot!).

2.  Is there something sad and pathetic about the fact that my Friday thrill is going to be seeing a package on my doorstep when I get home?  First, before you let the judgment begin, I have to tell you what will be in the package!   You see, about three plus weeks ago, the a/c adapter for my laptop just up and died on me...*sniff*.  So I finally remembered to order one at the beginning of the week. According to UPS, he will be mine, all mine by the end of business today.  I really have missed having my laptop because I use it all of the damned time.  Someone recently asked me how in the hell I watch all the television that I do plus read blogs and the simple answer is "multi-tasking".  I do them both at the same time, just not when I have to come down a hillyillion stairs to do so!

3.  Because I like my brilliance in post-script, I finally realized late last night what part of the whole "not sleeping" thing was about.  I had been taking Xanax for a month to keep me stable while I transitioned my other meds and uh duh, took the last one on Saturday.  Even though I still stay that the full moon and my lovely TOM were culprits, that Xanax thing has to play a factor.  Can I just say, "Damn, Gina!"?  I only took it for a month and feel like I have the DT's?  What about people that take it for like years?  Owie zowie!

4.  A certain someone likes to tell me that he has to teach his phone new words every time he plays text tag with me.  Hey, it's not my fault if he wants to use such naughty and filthy language....yanno, cause all of my language is pristine!  As a matter of fact, the reason I brought that up is because I've spent the last few minutes pouring over this post and adding some of my flavorful words to the spell-check dictionary.   I'm up to "C" now....I wonder what else there is? 

5.  I finally have mastered the trick of not letting someone negative get to me and it is amazing.  See, usually even though I say, "pfft, I don't give a crap", I really do.  I guess that my inner and outer bravado are quite different.  Then again, there's a lot inside of me that's quite different than most people think.  But anyway, I usually let it rent space in my mind for a few hours and this morning I totally was like, "whatever".  It feels great to just move on and not obsess over this small thing that someone else said or did, except yanno....posting about it and all.  That's not obsessing, right?  Is it?  No?  Yes?  Why won't you tell me?  ;).

Not Like I Faint Every Time We Touch....

Do you think that the word "crush" has lost a lot of its meaning now that we're all older and bolder?  Back when I was in high school or maybe even my early-mid twenties, the word "crush" meant everything to me.  It generally signified that I was head over heels in gaga love with someone and would just die, absolutely get crushed and die, if said person did not want me back.  It was a matter of being singularly smitten with the guy that I was convinced was "it" forever and ever.  Oddly enough, once I felt that crush-tastic about a guy, he was generally mine.  It's not like I had the power to go crazy and wave sinister magics over him to make him love me back....it's more like, I never seemed to want anyone who I did not have instant chemistry with anyway.

How's it hangin'? I'm Whit.  I'm the end of Hilly's vacation.  I have a knack for ruining a woman's fun. It's a gift.

I had plans for this post.  I had big plans.  I was going to bring in Anthony, you know, the Lita Ford guy, and I was going to rock this mofo.  It was going to get nasty.  I had a whole routine built around SNL's Dick in a Box sketch.  Basically, it was what Weird Al would do if he was nerdy enough to blog.  Did I just say I was nerdier than Weird Al?

Instead of putting 'my junk in that box' it was going to be 'my post on her blog.'  Hilarity would ensue. 

So I met up with Anthony, but instead of filming something we went and saw Superbad.  We missed some of the previews.  I had to finish my coffee and he had to shotgun beers. 

The guilt I felt about letting such a potential moment pass was eased slightly by two things, a) it probably wouldn't have been as funny as I hoped, and b) Hilly would understand that I went to the movies, we're movie friends on Facebook.

Then it dawned on me.  Hilly and I are a bad match.  We do not agree on movies.  She would never understand that I thought seeing Superbad was a good excuse not to make an ass out of myself on video.

How bad of a match are we? Movies I have no desire to see, crap like The Notebook, she rated 5 stars.  Good movies, the kind I like, stuff like Braveheart, well guess who doesn't want to see that?  That shit won an Oscar (it had to have won for something).  How many Oscars did The Notebook win?  Exactly.

So I started to feel bad.  I decided to write something funny.  The thing is, the last time I tried to write something funny for Hilly, in her comments, she deleted it.  How many other guesthosts can claim that?  In hindsight it probably wasn't that funny, and my timing was bad, but at 3am after the L.A. Blogger's Party, it just felt right.

Okay, now I'm thinking, Hilly doesn't like my movies or my comments.  Why am I here?  Then it dawned on me.  Pity.  This is a pity post.  Hilly is a giver, and me, as my time in a Turkish prison can attest, I am a taker.  Obviously I also enjoy movies about Gladiators. 

It's humbling.  I say stupid stuff.  I like superbad movies.  I'm needy.  Yet, Hilly, she sees something in me, a diamond perhaps, rough and covered in coal (I hope that's coal), but still, there's a sparkle.  For that I say thank you, Hilly.

I'm sorry for not making you squirm uncomfortably trying to sit through my video.  I'm sorry I write mean poems in your comments that consist only of the the word "fuck" over and over.  I'm also sorry we haven't been out for another round of drinks in months.  What's up with that?

Happy Ever After In The Marketplace....

OTC Yummies: I'm not ashamed to admit that I've done my fair share of drugs whether they be "street" or prescription.  Hell, I've taken heavy duty narcotic pain killers, sleep aids, anti anxiety pills, muscle relaxers and benzos  (not all at the same time, of course!).  But this weekend, I met my match in a white little pill with blue writing on it.  What was the delightful concoction, you ask?  Is it a new fun-time drug that Hilly somehow got her hands on?  Nope...it simply was Midol.  Whoever invented the saying, "take a fucking chill pill" must have just taken the almighty Midol...and men, don't get squiffed out because it can be taken for other things besides the girly moments in our lives.  But anyway, I took them religiously on Saturday for....yanno.  Man oh mangoberry,  I was so relaxed and sleepy all day that I truly didn't even feel the usual effects of...yanno.  I'm already wondering what would happen if I take two of those at the same time that I take two of my Buspar pills....mmmmm, anxiety free.  Crap, did I just say that out loud?

Even though I whipped out a quickie for Snackie Sunday, I really haven't been paying that much attention to the fine People's Republic of Blogistan for quite a few days.  I seem to be easily distracted every time I sit down to write or read but I try my best to sit still for a few minutes or so!  You know how all of *you* know that there is personal stuff going on but you *don't* know what it is exactly?  Right, and then remember how last week I decided that I was no longer going to allow myself or anyone else to make me the victim, thusly becoming extremely proactive?  That's what I've been doing and my heck, has it made me busy!  Here are some of the things that I've been up to this last week:

I just made that up and I have no idea out of what sick corner of my psyche that was born!  Ugh, anyway....right now my life is in a state of utter chaos and turmoil, which some of you know about.  I'm not going to talk about the details here because they are very personal however I will say that I am knee-deep in anxiety medication and am making the best of a very icky situation.  With that said, I may not be as readily available much for the next week or two.  I won't even come here and announce an hiatus because every time I do that, something suddenly comes up and I feel like blogging again.  Soooo, let's just say that I may not post much and more importantly, I may not comment much.  Please do not feel offended if I don't comment every day like I usually do but I have a lot of real life stuff to take care of and fix right now so I am kinda scattered.  As a matter of fact, you'll note that my feed reader* is already filling up and I am not sure when I can totally catch up!  Anyway you know me...I can't just leave it at that...I have a few things to say!

Random Thoughts As I Finish My Day

Boozing:  Have you ever noticed that no one is unhappy at the liquor store?  Everyone gleefully steps up to the clerk with a big, "Hiiii, how are ya?".  I figure it's because they are one second closer to getting their "fix of choice" on......booze, ciggies, candy bars, condoms for sexing it up.  You know, the finer things of life.

Downtown:  I saw the most heinous thing across the street from the State Capitol Building today.  Maybe others have seen this thing before, but I am apparently a noob to the whole "gay hate" van that gets to park on the road and spread its ugliness.  I cannot remember exactly what the dumb van said but it was basically a message that gay love is wrong and anyone who participates in or supports it will be going straight to hell.  Of course, this was parked right in one of the gayest parts of town just to be extra hateful and evil.  I have no idea what is wrong with living and letting others live rather than hate-mongering but it pisses me off.
